The Lifeguard

Images from his memory flashed,

His wife’s smiling face,

His happy children,

His old parents,

Who still looked to him,

Like he were five.

He cried as he thought,

What will become of them?

What the way of the future,

will lead to for them?

As the sea had decided for him.

His weight was pulling him down,

But knowing that he was loved,

He desperately gasped,

and bravely swam,

But he was defeated,

By the sea,and by the tide,

He smiled and closed his eyes,

And allowed her to take him,

Away from his life,

To what was destined for him.
